Luton is a proud place of sanctuary and welcome. Celebrate Refugee Week with us at the Community as a Superpower Festival!ย 

A day filled with great company, delicious food, music and much more.

This event is for everyone! All ages welcome, entry and all activities are free of charge!

Travel Support

If you are currently seeking asylum and live in Luton please email [email protected] ย to arrange support with travel costs to attend the festival. The budget is limited but we will provide as much support as possible.

What’s happening…

This Refugee Week everyone is invited to spend time with friends and build new connections in and beyond our neighbourhoods!

For kids

Parents/guardians must supervise children during all activitiesย 

  • Bouncy castles
  • Face painting / Glitter tattoos
  • Nurse Dessie storytelling
  • Arts and craft activities (t-shirt / totebag decorating and other activities)
  • Friendship bracelet making

For everyone

  • Food. drinks and snacks – inlcuding candyfloss and other treats!
  • Free haircuts from our friends at Stress Less Fades
  • Cheer on teams taking part in the Luton Refugee Week Football tournament
  • Enjoy a specially curated playlist with traditional music from around the world!
  • Build new connections and friendships in our community!

12:30-16:30ย Luton Refugee Week Football Tournament come and cheer for your favourite team!

14:00-18:00 Join us for a range of activities including, facepainting, glitter tattoos, bouncy castle, arts and crafts!ย 

14:30-17:30 Free Haircuts! come and get a fresh trim from Stress Less Fades – availability on a first come first served basis

14:30-17:30 Love Music Hate Racism enjoy a range of performances throughout the day and get involved with the LMHR movement!

14:30-17:30 LingoLiberationย enjoy a range of language games and activities – practice your English and meet new people with LingoLiberation

14:30-18:00 Meetย Nurse Dessieย and enjoy Windrush storytellingย fromย Mary Seacole Housing Association Lutonย 

15:30-17:00 Food & Drinkย is open! Come and grab something to eat!
