Luton Refugee Week 2024

Luton is a proud place of welcome and this year the town is celebrating Refugee Week with a programme of events.

Refugee Week is the worldโ€™s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. Established in 1998 in the UK, this annual festival aligns with World Refugee Day, celebrated globally on June 20th. In 2024, join us from June 17th to 23rd for a community-powered week!

This year’s Refugee Week theme is “Home”. Home can be a place of refuge, a feeling or a state of mind. It can be found in smells, tastes and sounds. From the clothes we wear to the words we grew up with. Itโ€™s in food, music and arts. Itโ€™s in our cultures and in our landscapes.

We will celebrate Luton as a place of sanctuary and the rich and diverse refugee communities in the town at the Welcome Home Festival on Sunday 23 June.

Get involved and join us for a week of celebration, learning and fun!
